Criterium 2019 Cycling Race

Start / Finish lines: Great National Assembly Square

Distance: 15 km (9.3 miles) by Naturalis (ONLY MTB), 30 km (18.7 miles) by Technosoft (MTB + ROAD), 60 km (37.5 miles) (ONLY ROAD)


1. THE ORGANIZER AND THE OFFICIAL COMPETITION REGULATION

1.1. The ”Criterium 2019 Cycling Race” (hereinafter referred to as ”Race”) is organized by the A.O. ”Sporter” Sports Club in partnership with ”SIMPALS” and the most popular ads board in Moldova 999.md

The main goal of A.O. ”Sporter” is to promote sports and active lifestyle among Moldovan citizens, as well as to involve the local community in promoting sports and their advantages.

The Race participants must comply with the rules and terms of the Official Race Regulation (hereinafter referred to as the ”Official Regulation”). The Official Regulation is accessible on www.criterium.md to all users. By accepting to participate in this Race, participants agree to comply with all the provisions, rules and conditions set forth in this Official Regulation.


1.2. GOALS AND TASKS

The cycling race has the aim to:

- promote the healthy lifestyle;

- popularize cycling among young people and adults;

- improve participants’ sports skills;

- identify the strongest participants from the relevant categories;

- establish friendly relationships between sports amateurs and professionals.

 

2. RACE REQUIREMENTS AND CONDITIONS OF ADMISSION

2.1. All participants who posses a track/ road bike or MTB and who have riding skills are admitted to races.

2.2. The races are amateur and are organized for the following categories: 

CRITERIUM 15 km by Naturalis (ONLY MTB):

No prizes for age group.

CRITERIUM 30 km by Technosoft (MTB + ROAD):

ABSOLUTE (MTB / ROAD):

  • Men / women, 1st PLACE

  • Men / women, 2nd PLACE

  • Men / women, 3rd PLACE

Age categories:

  • Men / women, aged between 16-18

  • Men / women, aged between 19-29

  • Men / women, aged between 30-39

  • Men / women, aged between 40-49

  • Men / women, aged between 50-59

  • Men / women, aged between 60-69

  • Men / women, aged 70+

CRITERIUM 60 km (ONLY ROAD):

ABSOLUTE (MTB / ROAD):

  • Men / women, 1st PLACE

  • Men / women, 2nd PLACE

  • Men / women, 3rd PLACE

No prizes for age group!

The participants who have won prizes in the ABSOLUTE category are not awarded in the Age-group category.

2.3. Winners are spotted by electronic timing system and confirmed by timekeepers.

2.4. The first three participants, both male and female, are declared winners in the respective age groups.

2.5. The Race will be displayed regardless of weather conditions.

2.6. The participants’ age is determined until 26/05/2019.

2.7. Race participants are required to:

  • Have an identity document;

  • Comply with the Race rules;

  • Own a bike helmet! (IT IS COMPULSORY FOR ALL);

  • Respect sporting and moral ethics;

  • Own a technically fit bike and functioning brakes system;

  • Pay the participation fee.

* Additional protective equipment is recommended: cycling gloves, glasses etc.

2.8. Participants are prohibited to:

  • Use any sound systems during the race (the headphones are forbidden);

  • Be assisted by a helper during the race and while fixing the bike;

  • Change the bike during the race (it is allowed to change some parts and components, except the frame);

  • Use any methods and means which facilitate progression in the race (electric wheel, electric bike etc.);

  • Change the approved cycling track;

  • Obstruct the movement of other means of transport;

  • Insult other people.


2.9. REGISTRATION

The participant is obliged to register in accordance with the Race Regulation before the start.

The participant is required to provide a receipt (the Declaration of responsibility) that he / she is liable for his / her own life, health and property (the Declaration form is handed out with the starter package).

At registration, the participant fills in the Declaration of responsibility.

Participants aged between 16 and 18 are admitted to race only possessing the written consent of their parents.

Children up 14 years and 16 years are admitted to the race only with the written consent of their parents and on the condition that they study in sports schools.

At registration, the participant receives a BIB number with a chip. The chip must be fixed to the leg.

If the participant is late for the starting packages handing out, he/ she will not be admitted to the Race.

The participant will be admitted only if he/ she has the BIB number and the activated chip.


2.10. PARTICIPATION FEE

Chisinau Criterium 2019:

300 MDL (≈15 EURO) - until 26.03.2019,

400 MDL (≈20 EURO) - between 27.03.2019 - 11.05.2019,

600 MDL (≈30 EURO) - between 12.05.2019 - 23.05.2019,

1000 MDL (≈50 EURO) - between 24.05.2019 - 26.05.2019

 

2.11. PAYMENT METHODS

2.11.1. Participation payment for natural persons:

Payment can be made online via Visa, Master or Raduga Cards; via terminals (QIWI, Run Pay, MMPS) or by cash at the Organizer’s headquarter. More details on payment methods are available on the official website of the event www.sporter.md.

2.11.2. Participation payment for legal persons:

Legal persons may pay the participation fee by bank transfer or card. In order to request a participation payment account, the legal person must register all employees who wish to participate in the Race, therefore, an online form is available on www.sporter.md, with the cash payment method included.

After all employees of the legal entity are registered in the form, an email with the company’s identification data, the list of participants and the chosen distances should be sent to event@sport.md. After the payment, the Organizer will confirm the employees registration.


3. THE TRACK AND THE DISTANCE

15 km (3 circles) - (ONLY MTB) must be covered in 40 minutes.

30 km (6 circles) - (MTB + ROAD) must be covered in 80 minutes (1 hour and 20 minutes).

60 km (12 circles) - (ROAD) must be covered in 170 minutes (2 hours 20 minutes).

Great National Assembly Square - Stefan cel Mare Av. - V. Pircalab St. - V. Micle St. - M. Eminescu St. - Stefan cel Mare Av. - V. Alecsandri St. - Stefan cel Mare Av. - Armeneasca St. - Stefan cel Mare Av. - A. Lapusneanu St. - Stefan cel Mare Av. - Great National Assembly Square.

4. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: DECLARATION OF RESPONSIBILITY

4.1. Participants must wear bright (or fluorescent) clothes, hold numbers and signs identifying them as participants in cycling race. They also must be careful at crossroads and respect other participants.

4.2. Bikes must comply with the technical requirements of road traffic rules:

  • Good functioning brakes system;

  • Proper tire pressure;

  • Working gear.

4.3. Participants are forbidden to use alcohol, drugs and tobacco throughout the race.

4.4. Each participant is obliged to move uniformly and straight, without sudden maneuvers.

4.5. Participants are banned from using the mobile phone during the race.

4.6. If a leading cyclist outraces other participants with a distance of a circle, the participants are forbidden from hindering the leader's movement.

4.7. When receiving the starting kit, the participant signs the Declaration of responsibility, thus confirming his / her participation and level of physical fitness.

In the case of underage participants, this Declaration will be signed by one of the parents or another legal representative.


5. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS

5.1. If the bike broke down, the participant must leave the roadway at a safe distance and repair the equipment independently, if possible.

5.2. Any bike repair on the track is FORBIDDEN. In case of bike breakdown, the participant must not stay on the track or move against the direction of cycling track, instead, he/ she must leave the track and walk to the right side of the traffic movement.

5.3. In case of crashes or injuries, the cyclist must call for aid, ambulance or medical staff.


6. ADMINISTRATIVE CONDITIONS

6.1. Administrative conditions (during races)

The ”Sporter” Sports Club is responsible for organizing the event and, if necessary, other co-organizers.

Participants, who withdraw during the race, are required to go the start / finish zone to notify the local track referee about it.

At the start/ finish zone, the medical staff will be available to help in case of accidents.

6.2. Exceptional administrative conditions

In case of exceptional situations, which hinder the safe conduct of the event (e.g. extreme weather conditions), the event will be postponed or canceled.

If the event is postponed, the participation fees are not refunded.

If the event is canceled, the participants will receive the full starter kit and the participation fee will be refunded.

6.3. Administrative conditions (general)

According to this Regulation, the Organizer will publically announce the winners of the Race and the awarded prizes. The winners list will be published on the official website within a maximum of 7 days.

The Organizer is committed to keep confidentiality of personal data of the participants / winners of the Race and to use it in accordance with this Regulation, the Declaration of responsibility and the legislation in force.

Participants are forbidden to litter in the race area, otherwise, they will be disqualified. The garbage can be dropped in trash bins or in garbage bags provided by the Organizer in the start / finish zones. At the end of the race, the Organizer will ensure that the waste is removed and carried away in special areas.

It is prohibited to take part in races/ competitions for persons who have alcoholic drinks/ drugs or who are under the influence of these substances; persons carrying any kind of weapons, explosives and / or incendiary materials, substances with an irritating or tearing or paralyzing effect, taser or other objects, which can be used for violent actions or disrupting the normal course of the event.

Persons, who violate these provisions, will be expelled by the Organizer from the event area, with the support of law enforcement agencies, if necessary.

The Organizer reserves the right to make changes in this Regulation before the race start date and commit to inform about the changes made  on the official website and at the race venue.

6.4. Hydration areas

In accordance with international rules, hydration areas (bottled water, fruits) will be set along the track, as well as in the start / finish zones. At the finish line, all participants will receive bottled water, fruits and energy drinks, if necessary. Participants are required to drop the plastic bottles and glasses in the bins close to hydration areas, in order to ease the cleaning process.

6.5. First aid - ambulance

First aid will be provided by an ambulance set by the Organizer in the start / finish zones or in other areas, where necessary. If a cyclist is injured, the track referees will call the ambulance, which will immediately arrive for assistance. The participants who withdraw from the race are required to notify the Organizer about their decision.

6.6. Other conditions

Supporters (family members, friends) may stay close to the track, but out of it, in order to not hinder the normal course of the event. During the race, road traffic will be reduced on all tracks, as much as possible.

The Organizer will ensure the following:

- healthcare;

- police crews, in accordance with the provisions of this Regulation.


7. PRIVACY POLICY

Organizer’s privacy commitment

We strive to protect our website, services and users from unauthorized access or modification and from unauthorized disclosure or destruction of information we possess.

We will never disclose / sell confidential information to unauthorized third parties, and, by all available means, we will ensure that this information is secured.

What kind of personal data does the Organizer collect?

By the registration form, the Organizer collects the following personal data: name, surname, date of birth, gender, e-mail, phone, identity ID number, IDNP and residence address.

Where is this information stored?

The data from the registration form is stored in the Organizer’s database.

What is the data used for?

The personal data from the registration form is used for the following purposes:

- to offer the sportsman a possibility to participate in the race;

- to automatically fill in the Declaration of responsibility, which the participant has to sign;

- to provide useful information regarding the current and future races by email;

- to automatically classify the participant to his / her age group.


Who has access to this data?

Only the Organizer - the A.O. SPORTER Sports Club - has access to this data.
